Malden School Counseling Department

The mission of the Malden School Counseling Department is to empower ALL students to reach their full potential through a data-driven, comprehensive school counseling program addressing academic, career, and personal/social development.

In collaboration with staff, parents, and the community:
Students will develop the skills needed to be healthy, responsible, resilient, empathic and pro-active citizens.
School Counselors will promote self-worth, respect, empathy, resiliency, citizenship, and the importance of college and career readiness.

Malden 5-8 School Counseling Department

The mission of the Malden 5-8 School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program which empowers ALL students to attain academic, career, and social/emotional success.

In collaboration with parents, staff, and the community, school counselors promote the importance of attaining 21st century skills, becoming productive citizens, and the importance of being a life-long learner in our diverse world.

Middle School Pathway Exploration Policy

In accordance with Massachusetts state regulations (603 CMR 4.00), Malden Public Schools maintains this Middle School Pathway Exploration Policy to ensure that all middle school students are informed of, and gain exposure to, career technical education (CTE) programs available to them at local, regional, agricultural, and other public high schools. 

This policy supports Malden’s commitment to equitable access to information and experiences that prepare students for thoughtful decisions about their high school, postsecondary, and career pathways.
